About The Event

Please Join Us in Celebrating Black History at the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). Together we will tour the exhibit “Angela Davis - Seize the Time”, which the New York Times and KQED called a “must-see”. We will also tour the “History of the Black Power Movements in California” exhibit, which is an extension of the impactful “All Power to the People: Black Panthers at 50” installation.

We look forward to our Jack and Jill families coming together to celebrate our past in the present. Black History is such an important opportunity to share our stories and preserve and continue to activate Black history. Yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever - Power to the People!

Our celebration will include: an interactive tour of the exhibits; lunch together in the museum restaurant (prepared by Chef in residence Michele McQueen - famous for creating “food that feeds your soul”); as well as additional interactive programming for our children, teens, and families.
