MLK Day of Service Family Skating Party

The Contra Costa County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. invites you to an exciting afternoon of family fun and community service on January 19, 2026, from 1-4 PM at Paradise Skate Roller Rink. Get ready to lace up your skates and join us as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday with wholesome family fun while giving back to our community. Note: This is an Open event. Please invite other families. 

Attire: Calling all HBCU alumni and families…Wear your favorite HBCU shirt OR come in your favorite Jack and Jill attire.

Ticket Prices:

• Skating Ticket (includes quad skate rentals) - $10.75 ($10 if paying by Zelle)

  
  

• Skating Ticket + Inline skating rental upgrade - $18.75 ($18 if paying by Zelle)

  
  

• Skating Ticket + Quad Skates + Skatemate (priority for younger children) - $16.75 ($16 if paying by Zelle)

  
  

• Skating Ticket + Inline Skates + Skatemate (priority for younger children) + Inline skating rental upgrade - $25 ($24 if paying by Zelle)

  
  

• Non-skater - Free

  
  

Note: This is not a catered event. Paradise Skate's concession stand will be open for food and beverages for purchase.

We are excited to support three meaningful community service initiatives:

• Fight food insecurity through the Souper Bowl of Caring Support the Jack and Jill of America Foundation in fighting hunger by donating canned goods to the Souper Bowl of Caring.

• Support Pantry Kids Inc. during in-person snack donation drive Based in Orinda, Pantry Kids is a nonprofit committed to ensuring children throughout the Bay Area have access to snacks throughout the week—made possible through community-supported snack drives.

• Spread kindness with Cardz for Kidz Groups 1–5 will create handmade cards that will be sent to families and seniors in need across the country.

  
  

Here’s what to do:

• To support Souper Bowl of Caring, make a direct donation to the Contra Costa County Food Bank. Mothers may also bring donations in person on the day of the event.

• Donate by purchasing individually wrapped snacks to support the Pantry Kids food drive. A list of requested items that we'll use during our community service activity can be found here.

• Come skate with us in support of these initiatives, and don’t forget to share your favorite skating song!
